"Rich gave me a pepper plant he found in South America after our video shoot for Soil3. It was late in the season but I added it to my garden and enjoyed a harvest through October! They’re gorgeous plants!
"Rich really, really knows his stuff. He's given me so much useful advice about growing hot peppers. Knowledgeable about every aspect of Capsicum husbandry, and always happy to provide help."
"Rich is the most knowledgeable pepper grower I know, truly a guru. More people need to see his videos!"
Capsicum Origin Story
Where Our Peppers Come From
Peppers evolved in South America but have since spread around the world. We search for rare wild Capsicum, traditional varieties, and distinctive cultivars with origins worth knowing.
We're interested in more than what's new or trendy. We seek out the origin stories—the peppers that have been part of cultures for generations, the places they came from, and the people who grow them.
We collect in the field or source from trusted growers, then grow, evaluate, and carefully select the seeds we offer.
Traveling the world in search of peppers
Come with us as we travel the world in search of peppers, uncovering their origins, meeting the people who grow them, and documenting the stories behind their genetics.
