Pepper Guru FAQ — Membership, Rare Seeds, and How It All Works
Where do you collect your rare pepper varieties from?
We travel across the globe—from the Amazon basin to the Andean highlands, and across parts of Asia. But since the Capsicum genus originated in South America, most of our wild finds come from deep fieldwork across South and Central America.
What gear do you use to grow your peppers?
We only recommend what we trust and use ourselves. You can find our full list of Pepper Guru–approved fertilizers, cages, lights, soil amendments, and more on our Amazon Storefront.
I signed up, but I can’t log in. It says my account needs to be approved?
Anyone can register but only approved members (people who have purchased a Pepper Guru shirt or trucker cap) can log in. Members gain access to the community forum, their account dashboard, and exclusive seed drops. If you’ve made a qualifying purchase, just give us a moment to approve your account manually. You’ll get a confirmation email when you’re approved.
I missed the homepage instructions and now I’m locked out. What do I do?
I bought a membership Shirt or Trucker Cap And I'm logged in, But I still Can't see the Hidden Seeds!
Not to worry! If you are logged in, you’re good to go. Our public seeds page is updated often with classic favorites—but the ultra-rare seeds from our South American expeditions are offered in time sensitive seed drops. When new seed drops go live, you will have full visibility on them and will be notified via email. For now, make your self at home. Introduce yourself in the Pepper Guru Community forum. Welcome to the family. We are waiting to hear from you!
What Should I Know About Shipping Seeds Internationally?
Our rare pepper seeds ship worldwide, but your country may require seed import permits like phytosanitary certificates (e.g., EU DAFM, USA APHIS). You’re responsible for checking and meeting local rules. Costs can hit $80-$120. We don’t handle or predict these; non-compliance may lead to seizures (no refunds for customs issues). Avoid the burn and register as an importer at your ag authority. Learn more.
What’s your refund or return policy?
Pepper Guru Promise:
We want you to be thrilled with your order. If something isn’t right, email us at [email protected]—we’ll do our best to fix it.
Seeds Disclaimer:
Our seeds achieve a 98% germination rate, with many customers reporting 100% success. Germination depends on many variables—light, moisture, temperature, and technique. While we grow from the same seeds we sell, we can’t guarantee germination for everyone. That said, we stand behind our products and are always here to help. Learn more.
