Everyone’s pepper journey is different, but for me, it all started with taking that first bite. From that moment, my passion for peppers grew into something I never expected.
My name is Rich
From a young age, my obsession was nature, wildlife and gardening. My main curiosity was soil biology and growing the healthiest plants possible. In 1994 I planted some Thai Dragon peppers in our garden and my dad would dare me to try them before he would eat them.
My first encounter with a C. chinense pepper was at the age of 16. That fruity burst of flavor, followed by an extreme heat, was unlike anything I had ever tasted before. Those new flavors sparked a life long infatuation. It set me on a quest: traveling the world in search of peppers.

I now travel the world in search of the best pepper varieties from their region of origin. Nothing is more rewarding than hand picking peppers on adventures along the way. The people we meet and the friendships we make are what breathe life into our journey. The shared passion for peppers may be the key to understanding that we are more alike than we realize.
